Cancel the Show "Buckwild"

    1. Petition by

West Virginia Healthy Kids and Families Coalition

You care about West Virginia, and you care about our kids.

The MTV television show "Buckwild" cares about neither. It presents an ugly, ignorant, scripted "reality show" portrayal of West Virginia. For every effort we in West Virginia make to educate our kids, stand up for our workers, and attract new visitors and businesses to our state, this television program works ten-fold against us. The show is dishonest and grotesque.

Please take a moment to sign this petition and send our message to MTV President Stephen Friedman and John Legere, CEO of T-Mobile, one of Buckwild's sponsors.

If you have any doubt, please watch the two-minute trailer below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3zY6towDsg.

Depicting real people as stereotypes that people can ridicule may seem like fun to some, but it is a relative to racism, sexism and ugly cartoons of varipus people that hace been uses in propaganda against groups. Get this crap off the air.

I have lived in West Virginia all my life. I am very appalled with the treatment you give to West Virginia. How would you like it if your state was given a bad reputation because of an outsider's idiocy? It's sad that many foreign countries know West Virginia better than many non-WV American citizens.
