All adoptable animals entering the shelter system deserve a chance to make it out alive. The animals in local shelters are currently at the mercy of the shelter workers. Animals come in and aren't even photographed or attended to by a Veterinarian at the Petersburg shelter. volunteers and adopters are not contacted after filling out applications and many needy animals there are killed with no chance to be rescued.

Try to give the "throw away animal"s a little more time for adoption. I would rather see ALL states fine the pants off of breeders who run abusive, over crowded facilities, as a way of generating TAX revenue, then to kill off the excess animals, to save tax dollars. ALSO, tax breeders for sales, track them down to do so. This has to begin to happen, we can not keep indulging ourselves in throw away societies, it is a wanton, decadent and irresponsible mind set, and I feel the American people ought to re-learn respectability....animals are not garbage to be so easily thrown away, we are not respecting life when we do so, it is un-Godly to do so.

a lot of shelters are cage free for domestic animals and long term care if they don't get adopted; we should move to the future be more active in raising money.
