We Deserve Sick Time and A Raise In Massachusetts

We Deserve Sick Time and A Raise In Massachusetts

    1. Petition by

      New England United for Justice

We know $8 an hour is not enough for our families to survive off of. We also know that no one should be at risk of losing their job over their health.

This is why New England United for Justice is a part of the Raise Up Massachusetts Coalition to fight for an increase in the State Minimum Wage and to pass Earned Sick Time into law.

Stand 20K Strong with NEU4J is about the 20,000 families we know will be impacted by these issues in lower income communities of color in Boston. It is about the 20,000 untold stories on how these issues impact the lives of working people in our neighborhoods and the trickle effect these issues have on our families and communities.

It is about the power we can have in our community if at LEAST 20,000 people in the Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan area GET OUT TO VOTE in the 2013 Mayoral Race and sign the petition to put these issues on the 2014 ballot.

We want to show we are 20K Strong in our neighborhoods!

Join us in this fight, sign in support of Raising the Minimum Wage and Passing Earned Sick Time in Massachusetts!

    1. Updates and News Moving Ahead

We have reached over 2800 supporters so far...THANKS for standing up for workers and signing in support of these issues!

Starting September 18, 2013 NEU4J will be working with Right to the City Vote, Raise Up Massachusetts and the State Voter Table conduct a State Wide ballot initiative to put these issues on the 2014 ballot. This means we need to collect 100,000 for BOTH Sick Time and Minimum Wage. I think we can do this, we have over 60 organizations that are committed to helping us move this effort through the communities across Mass but we need your support.

      - Can you help collect signatures?
      - Can you sign your organization, business or church onto the campaign?
      - Can you help us get press on this issue?
      - Can you help do trainings with residents in your community?
      - How else can you help build on this issues...we want to hear from YOU!

All workers in MA should have a right to paid sick days and living wage- this is about justice for our communities!
