This is important because since my mom retired from her job of 25 years as a custodian 11 months ago, she was diagnosed with Arcenic Poisoning and was cleared from the physicians to retire because she was very sick. She filled out all Social Security paper work to receive her benefits. The Social Security Administration told her it would take 4 to 6 months for her checks to start coming in. She has not received a check yet to date yet. She contacted the office again and they told her that after review of her case, she does not qualify and that she can go back to work. These people are crazy, my mom is almost 65 years old and is very frail and sick. She can't go to the doctors anymore because she can't afford to pay the bill. Upon hearing this news, I did a little research and found out the 2 of my aunts went through with the same kind of problem with the Social Security Administration. They both got an attorney and they started getting their money right away. I think its very wrong the our government would allow this to happen since hard working people have to pay Social Security every pay check so that they can receive this benefit after retirement and have to deal with this problem. Why does it take an attorney to get what is not only rightfully yours but also what you have worked so hard for in your lifetime. We need to do something about this problem now and put a stop to it or you and every other hard worker will deal with this problem when it's our turn to retire. Please sign my petition. Thank you

It is horrible that the process is filed with red tape and hoops people have to jump through to qualify for benefits. I wish your mom the best of luck and a speedy recovery. Keep on them. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. :-)
