Hideous New Wall - Media Release
The Jenolan Environment Protection Committee is appalled to discover that more of the karst features at Jenolan Caves are being covered over by inappropriate development.
Not satisfied with covering over the natural creeks, they have commenced building a truly hideous wall which covers over and detracts from the natural rock wall in the tourist precinct (see photo).
They complain that they can’t make the caves pay and yet they waste money building something which detracts from the very thing that attracts people to Jenolan – a wonderful karst landscape.
Meanwhile, the government refuses to approve a new Plan of Management to protect and properly manage the Jenolan Caves.
The Jenolan Environment Protection Committee calls on the Minister for the Environment and Minister for Heritage, Robyn Parker, to order the immediate demolition of the wall.
