In the minutes following the end of the special session, Senate Republicans claimed victory after a dishonorable public attempt to force an out of order vote on SB5. Official public record immediately exposed the illegitimacy of the vote with a proper 6/26/2013 time stamp as reflected in several images from approximately 12:53AM on 6/26/2013 .

By 1:03AM on 6/26/2013, tampering was evident as time stamps on the public record were altered to display the fraudulent date of 6/25/2013 in an attempt to reflect a vote had been taken before the end of the session.

Rick Perry - as Governor of our great state, it is your duty to investigate and prosecute those responsible for tampering with the sanctity of our public records to the fullest extent of the law.

This Monday, July 1st, thousands of your fellow Texans will assemble at 12 noon on the south steps of the Texas Capitol building in protest of the second special session of the 83rd Legislature.

They will be there to demonstrate against Governor Perry's abuse of power in calling a second special session, the recently-filed HB2 and SB9, and the Governor's abject failure to investigate or prosecute the felons who openly tampered with Texas public records in the minutes after the first special session closed.

Join us in defense of Texas. We'll be there - will you?

We have news this afternoon that Rep. Jodie Laubenberg has filed HB 2, described as "Relating to the regulation of abortion procedures, providers, and facilities; providing penalties.", and yet silence from the offices of either the Governor or our Attorney General on an investigation into the felony committed openly and witnessed live by 180,000 viewers in the minutes following midnight June 26th.

Governor Perry has now called a second special session to begin July 1st - at the cost of millions to Texas taxpayers - in order to give the felons who openly committed their crime on the statehouse floor in the early hours of this morning another chance.

Call his office today - 512-463-2000 - and express your displeasure at both his waste of our hard earned dollars, and his apparent disdain for doing the job he was elected to do.

We're up to the 125 signatures required, but there is still much to do. According to Penal Code Sec 37.10(d)(3), it is a second degree felony to tamper with governmental records with the intent to defraud or harm another.

Step up Governor Perry - on behalf of the citizens who have elected you their representative, and against those who intentionally tampered with the public record in an attempt to defraud and harm them.

It is reprehensible and an overt abuse of the system in order to pass a draconian law. Perry needs to admit that his party sought to cheat through an illegal act.

While I am not a resident of Texas, I am a US Citizen and am horrified something like this happened. It speaks poor for the state and the entire country. The US is supposed to be a democratic nation - one that other countries look to for guidance. Is that no longer the case? Is blatant corruption in government now just ignored or swept under the rug. We all know it happens, but to do it so obviously is a smack in the face. Please do the right thing and prosecute these people - they are criminals and need to be treated as such.
