Restore Equal Access for Adult Adoptees

This petition is addressed to members of the US Congress and the President to ask for their support and involvement in restoring Adult Adoptees the Civil Right to their own personal Birth Certificates.  Individual States have taken it upon themselves to deny this Civil Right to the segment of their citizens who were adopted without just cause.  The denial of this Civil Right is not the result of any crime committed by said citizens, it is based solely on the circumstance of their birth and subsiquent adoption as children.

I found out 2 years ago at age 52 that I was adopted! I would love to be able to thank my birth mom for making sure I got to a good home and also to find my brother who is 3 years older than me. Time is of the essence. I have my non-identifiable info from NYS but it tells nothing really. My prayers are with all.

As both an adoptee & a pro-life movement advocate, I implore you to restore Adult Adoptees the most basic of human & civil rights...access to their original birth certificates. We need to know who we our, what our heritage is, & detailed medical histories. We're law abiding, tax paying voters.

As a pro-life adovocate, I invite you to study the statistics. In "open records" states where adoptees have access to their original birth certificates, abortion rates have actually declined. This is for the simple reason that the majority of mothers faced with either aborting or relinquishing their child for adoption believe in an afterlife & would much rather feel their child is in heaven than to have to spend the rest of their lives wondering where they are & if they're having a good life.

      For my friend Barrie Gold.

Every child should have the right to their families medical history. To keep this information secret helps no-one.
