I think most runners would not mind some of their entry fee money being put to good use in the form of donations for Hurricane Sandy, but I believe it should be up to each individual runner to make that choice. I understand NYRR did spend money for Tshirts, medals, etc., but with the race not being run and insurance, a refund should be a viable option.

Runners are clients waiting for responses. The whole event has been blurred by the worst communication I've ever seen in such a massive event. Poor information, misleading and causing us a big money and emotional loss. I can't put in words how upset I am after 2 years of preparation for the race and this awful treatment we've received from the organizers.

I am $10,000 out of pocket as a result of the marathon having been cancelled at such a late stage, after I travelled all the way from New Zealand to take part. I am also now 2 weeks "down" on my annual vacation days, as a result of time off to travel to and participate in an event that I was TOLD was going to happen before I left New Zealand, which in reality never did.

I think that NYRR and MAYOR BLOOMBERG should have some idea it want going to happen since it was a state of emergency alot of races that where cancel because of the storm gave refunds now it is time for NYRR to cough up the money they get insurance for it find then get it .I would have understand if they the marathon another date or adding the full with the half in march that would have been fine but when you have people flying in as late as Friday and cancel the race you have no consideration for these runners.THEIR was a state of emergency use your head why the hell did you want to have this race why does it feel that you put a gun to these athletes head.I dont want anything to do a race with NYRR every again
