PG&E is applying for rate increases of $1.282 Billion in 2014, $492 Million in 2015, and $504 Million in 2016. During the years of 1976 to 1984 Abalone Alliance, several other groups, and individuals protested the operation of Nuclear Power at Diablo Canyon upon a Chumash Sacred Burial Ground. In 1981 the Public Utilities Commission approved a rate hike of $200 Million with the promise that Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant will be decommissioned in 30 years. Here it is 2013 and instead of spending Millions upon Billions of dollars on a Nuclear Power Plant that is surrounded by 12 earthquake faults and 2 right next to it with a history of Tsunamis while it participates in Uranium mining that causes Radioactive Isotopes and the creation of extremely hazardous, radioactive material that persists in the environment for tens of thousands of years a promise should be kept and investments should be made towards fear free energy and decommissioning Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant. With actions like San Luis Obispo schools adding solar panels and the creation of the solar farm at Carrizo Plains it has become obvious that we are ready to go in a cleaner direction with the best interest of future generations in mind.
