Don Siegelman has the experience and qualifications needed to be the best US Attorney General in the history of the United States. He served honorably in Alabama as the State Attorney General, and in every other top position as State government. As Governor, Don Siegelman began to learn in a very unique way something that few other US officials have any grasp of whatsoever - the fact that the US Justice Department is inherently "a swamp of corruption" (in the words of one FBI agent).
Don Siegelman, as a victim of injustice, has a very unique grasp of what is needed
in the job. The appointment of Don Siegelman as US Attorney General would not
only capture the imagination of good people all over the world, but would also send
a strong signal to other victims of similar injustices that their day of triumph is also coming - and would send a signal to the perpetrators of injustices that their day of reckoning is near. We, the undersigned, call upon the President to immediately act with the powers vested in him under the Constitution of the United States, and to pardon Don Siegelman inter alia by granting all the terms and conditions of the Fifty Two Part Pardon and Reprieve as sent to the Honorable US Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz; by no later than March of 2013. The President may grant this pardon and reprieve in stages, and the first stage ought to be a commutation and pardon without prejudice for Don Siegelman, and the appointment of Don Siegelman as a Special White House Liaison for Pardons and Reprieves. We also accordingly call on the President to appoint Don Siegelman as US Attorney General by no later than April 2013, to send a strong signal to the American people that the Administration intends to do the best it can during the second term of the President to live up to the oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
