Olivia died from complications after she was raped at age 7. President Sirleaf's government has been directly involved in her case, and the accused rapist runs free. Despite major press in Liberia the President has remained silent about this tragedy. Her Ministry of Gender has also taken credit for Olivia's original life saving surgery which should be attributed to US surgeons.

President Sirleaf won the Nobel Peace Prize for work in women's issues. It is time she spoke out for Olivia Zinnah.

Because this is the exact reason women do not come forward about rape. No action is taken. We must start a movement to get more women to speak.

Violence against women is an appalling human rights violation. But it is not inevitable. We can put a stop to this.
