Paul Fenton, Helen Dent, and Lakes Live Music Promotion: Stop using the T.Rex name and image to make money off of Marc's legacy.

    1. Petition by

      Marc Bolan

In 2008, a petition was signed by David Bowie, BP Fallon, Roy Wood, Tony Visconti, and nearly 1,000 other Marc Bolan fans - in order to have Paul Fenton change the name of his T.Rex cover band. He quickly followed up with an open letter to fans, vowing to change the band name & cease advertising as the original T.Rex! He has not followed through with this promise.

Paul Fenton and his girlfriend Helen Dent, who helps promote the group via Lakes Live Music Promotion, continue to tour several European countries, advertising their cover band as the original T.Rex. It is very misleading to those that might remember T.Rex music, but didn't closely follow the life of Marc Bolan.

Please sign below if you agree that Marc Bolan was T.Rex, and that Paul Fenton's current cover band is not the sound or image that we would like T.Rex to be remembered by.

Blatant profiteering from a talentless hack. Fenton having known Marc makes it even more distasteful.

The original TREX died with Marc Bolan - Paul Fenton should hang his head in shame. How dare he advertise his band as the orginal T.REX (which was MarcRIP,MickeyRIP,SteveRIP and Bill). Paul Fenton's band does not reflects the integrity of the original T.Rex and is a shameless money making sham.
