Offshore Wind NOT Offshore Oil!

    1. Petition by

      Greenpeace

Is 4 million barrels of oil in the Gulf not enough reason to ban offshore drilling? It’s been just 6 months since the largest oil spill in U.S. history, but President Obama has just lifted the moratorium on offshore drilling. Now the Administration is clearing the way for more drilling and more potential oil spill disasters in places like the East Coast and the pristine waters off of Alaska’s coast.

President Obama needs to hear from you TODAY. We can’t let Big Oil determine our future – that’s for you and me to decide.

Greenpeace is still in the Gulf, and we’re still finding oil every day. The impact of the BP spill will be felt for decades to come. We simply can’t afford to repeat a disaster like that.

It’s time to invest in an energy revolution. Tell President Obama to Google that!

I was born and raised in New Orleans, and continue to reside there. However, I am saddened that my state politicians seem so eager to play into the hands of the oil industry in raising fears of job loss due to the moratorium. Shortsighted in their rhetoric, they continue to ignore the unsustainable nature of offshore drilling and its devastating effects it has on our habitat. Without a switch to a more sustainable industry, such as wind power, I'm concerned that our ecosystem (including cities) will totally collapse under the environmental strain.

we already have enough to go around, why do you keep destroying the earth that gave you life just to make a couple dollars? it is honestly not worth it if your children are forced to suffer the consequences of your actions. build a better future for yourself by making sure the world is clean and healthy
