No on HB 1356 Sonnenberg -- No Severance Money For Local Governments that Impact Oil & Gas:  Don't let dirty energy bully our local government!

Local governments should not be penalized for fulfilling their legal obligation to regulate land use and oversee oil and gas operations in areas under their jurisdiction. Such penalties would unfairly obstruct the ability of local governments to protect the health, safety and welfare of their communities.

It is completely ludicrous for this bill to even exist-this is not a bill meant to strengthen regulations for the health of the public-it is clearly for the benefit of the industry, which is simply un-ethical and un-democratic.

      Dear Colorado legislators,

You are our last line of defense as the Oil and Gas Industry puts their profiteering interests ahead of our public health, safety and local environments with HB 1356.

HB 1356 is offensive in that it shows blatant disregard for citizen concerns by presuming that our Colorado legislators will choose the Oil and Gas Industry over local communities and our residents.

I am trusting that we can indeed count on you to represent us in this matter.

Many cities and towns in Colorado are aware of the health hazards of fracking. They do not want it to happen in their jurisdiction at all. To penalize them for saying so is just plain criminal.

Citizens of any community have a right to protect their personal and community property and the "state" --by all that is right and moral--should respect that right. BigOil/Gas has no vote in this issue!
