The Montaukett Indian Nation's status as a NY Indian tribe was unconstitutionally revoked in 1910 by the New York Supreme Court. Bill A07420B/S 5894-B will overturn the 1910 ruling and create a procedure to restore the Montaukett as a historical New York Indian tribe.

Speaker Sheldon Silver, Speaker, NY State Assembly
New York Governor
New York State Senate
New York State House
Please pass bill A07420B, S5894-B: NY Recognition of Montaukett Indian Nation

Twenty-five years ago, my eyes opened to see the lies of this country founded by genocide. Worse was the knowledge that John Tyler(10th president) was a sire. Twenty-three years later, I dug further, and ended at Lion Gardiner. My ancestors did not see far. Watch the movie, "Older Than America"; read the book, "Lightningbolt" by Hyemeyohsts Storm. The reinstatement of the Montauketts legal status is only a small step, but it is an important step.
