According to the National Institute of Mental Health, an estimated 26.2 percent of Americans aged 18 or older suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. It is irresponsible for National Geographic Channel and any other media outlet to promote extreme views of groups or individuals on the fringe of society for entertainment purposes, especially when a commonality of said group involves purchasing and stockpiling weapons and ammunition for the purpose of defending oneself against a theory or scenario that doesn't yet exist. It feeds paranoia and blurs the line between fact and fiction. It exploits members of society who have trouble distinguising between fact and fiction by adding weight to fears they already have and educates them on how to busy themselves in preparing for the fears that exist only in their heads. The show can be quite calloused in portraying gun use among children and while Nat Geo has taken steps to provide disclaimers that undermine the actions of the subject matter, it obviously wasn't enough. While I appreciate that each individual should take responsibility for himself and that we each have a choice in what we watch on television, I argue that if someone is suffering from a mental health issue, he might not be aware that watching a show of this nature could potentially push him towards an action that he might not otherwise take. National Geographic Channel, PLEASE remove this show from your lineup . In your zest to document life on the fringe, you are adding fuel to an evergrowing fire and the potential consequences are devastating.

Stop featuring people doing illegal things - like moonshine making, or rigging illegal and dangerous man-traps. And stop giving a platform to self-avowed assassins, like Yeager.

You are glamorizing crazy dangerous people, like Nancy and Adam Lanza - Adam Lanza being the crackpot kid who shot up Sandy Hook School in Connecticut.

These people are dangerous, and encouraging their bunker mentality only encourages more violence, and less sense.

I'm tired of the crazy and illegal being glamorized.

Because it's just crazy. People building holes and putting sharp bamboo in them, hanging racks with stakes in them.......this isn't prepping..this is learning how to murder

The visceral outcry against the mentally-ill will only be exacerbated by this documentary.

This is important to me because I have worked in the mental health field for 34 years and have witnessed how media has the potential of adversely affecting someone's mental state.
