The Miss America Organization provides thousands of dollars in academic scholarships for women all across America. Women who are not married or do not have children and wish to continue their education should be allowed to continue to compete in the Miss America Organization until they are 26 years old.

To:
Sam Haskell, III (Chair), The Miss America Organization
Please raise the age range of Miss America Contestants back up to 26 years old. Women older than 24 need the scholarships and opportunities to grow within this amazing organization.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

I became Miss South Carolina at the age of 26...the same year the age limit was lowered to 24. Many wonderful young women are continuing their education well beyond the age of 24, by choice or need, and would be able to make a tremendous impact and contribution to this program if allowed to compete!

I couldn't afford for my daughter to go to college right after highschool so she waited a little bit. The recession really hit our family hard and now my daughter is ready to go to college at 24 years old and needs this scholarship money. She would represent Miss America better than she possibly could have at 18 and she would do a phenomenal job.

I loved every minute of my Miss America experience and would hate for it to get taken away from anyone just because of a year or two age difference!

I have competed for the last 8 years. It has been the most growing experience for me. I am changed for the better. The Miss America system is the biggest blessing in my life. I just recently aged out but my heart still feels like it is not yet done growing from this experience. I have so much more to offer now that I am older and wiser.
