The Indian government, earlier this month, quietly rolled out the Central Monitoring System (CMS) which will allow them to access to ALL of the telecommunication networks- from social media activities to phone conversations.
This monitoring system has not been publicly debated and gives easy access to all our information to the government.
Pavan Duggal, a Supreme Court advocate specialising in cyber law, said the government has given itself unprecedented powers to monitor private Internet records of citizens. "This system is capable of tremendous abuse," he said.
We need to tell the Ministry of Communications and Technology that we're watching their actions- and that they cannot go ahead with this monitoring system.
