Windows Phone 8 is a wonderful phone and easy to use. However, it was a very bad technical decision to not also include the ability to have programs put files on the phone (internal or SD card), allow programs to use these files and provide a file manager to manage the files. Advanced users know that they can actually put files on the phone manually via the PC desktop - but it's useless since programs are not being given access to those files. Requiring a sync to SkyDrive, BoxDrop, Box and other Cloud environments so that a limited set of files (i.e. photos, mp3, video and MS documents) can be accessed is not a good solution. While there is plenty of debate in the community, including Microsoft developers defending the position, at the end of the day the inability to have file capability on the phone could be the demise of the phone.
