De-regulation will have global negative impacts on not only occupational therapy practitioners, but also the safety and well-being of the consumers whom they serve. OT address physical, cognitive, psychosocial and other aspects of performance in a variety of contexts to support everyday meaningful life activities that affects the health, well-being and quality of life.

OT provides skilled services from trained professionals who impact a persons life on all levels. Often it provides the key to functional independence for persons with various physical, mental or emotional impairments. The profession is legitimate and needs the same legal protection and respect as all other allied health professions.
