Prevent demolition of Flushing Meadows skatepark

    1. Petition by

Ever since this park was given to the skate community its been the spot for both locals and outsiders to meet, hang around and practice the sport we love. It would be a huge disappointment for us to lose this place where we just have fun every day.

We've been told by NYC Parks and Recreation personal that there will be a soccer stadium soon to be build where our skatepark is.

Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of New York City
Prevent demolition of Flushing Meadows skatepark

I have been going here since I have first heard of this skatepark without it I would have to give up my dream of becoming a professional scooter rider because it is the best skatepark I have ever been to.

I've lived in Queens all my life, until recently and I miss it, and my favorite place was this park. It was a beautiful thing in an otherwise letdown community and it gives us teens a place to go to, to escape and I will be extremely pissed off if any part of my hometown is 'demolished'
