Stop taking dolphins from the Taiji cove in Japan.

It is undoubtedly true that Taiji, Japan is ground zero for the live dolphin trade. Each year hundreds of dolphins are herded into coves by using drive herding to force them in the bay. Nets are then drawn up over the mouth of the cove to prevent their escape. The dolphins are then hand picked by dolphin trainers from all over the globe to be taken from their natural habitat and spend the rest of their lives in captivity, away from their pod. Worse than captivity is what happens to the dolphins that are not chosen; they are stabbed or drowned to death in the very same cove, forced to spend the last few terrifying moment of their lives swimming in a cove red with the blood of their families. I am asking you to no longer buy dolphins from this disgusting place, for without the repeated business of the marine parks, this slaughter would not be economically possible.

Whales and dolphins are not only highly intelligent and sentient, with rich emotional lives and strong family connections, but they simply cannot be humanely confined. It's no life. The enclosures are too small in any facility, but especially small ones like Marineland and Game Farm. I also oppose their capture because it cannot be managed without cruelty.

this is disgusting, horrible and cruel. It needs to stop immediately! Dolphins are such beautiful creatures and this should NOT be allowed to not even one dolphin. I fail to understand how the Japanese people and government can tolerate such cruelty. This needs to change.

Dolphins have been helping men fish for decades. As a proof, kindly watch the video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GOb3nFpewM Dolphins are not made for captivity. They give us free shows when they escort boats at sea and that would generate a lot of money for some of your citizens. Dolphins’ meat is not suited for human consumption because of the mercury in their flesh. Please show the whole world how innovative Japan can be in developing the kind of ecotourism in your country where free dolphins and free whales are observed closely from boats. Our friends, the dolphins, deserve the same freedom we enjoy. They don't deserve to be jailed, get depressed and commit suicide. Please develop ecotourism in Japan. With my best wishes of success in this blessed endeavour.
