From petition creator: *****NEWS****NEWS*****NEWS***** THE CDMA HAS BEEN OFFERED THE SHORT TERM LEASE FOR THE PURLEY CENTRE LIBRARY IN MARSH FARM!! MASSIVE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE INVOLVED IN ACHIEVING THIS GOAL OF MINE AND FOR SUPPORTING ME WITH VOLUNTEERING TIME AND ENERGY TO GET IT DONE FOR THE PEOPLE OF LUTON AND ESPECIALLY MARSH FARM YOUTH WHICH IN THE LONG RUN WILL ENABLE ME IN MY QUEST TO CHANGE THE WORLD A LITTLE BIT FOR MY BLAPPS PEOPLE AND EVERYONE THAT RESPECTS IT! I LOVE YOU ALL AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!! "Now the youth have no excuse" Quote: YWYDA Project motto

The CDMA Group initiatives services scores of children per week but these are scattered and haphazard and have no permanent venue to focus on helping developing the community.

    2. 1000 SIGNATURES MARK ACHIEVED!

      We have now passed our marker for how many signatures we thought we would achieve and still have one part of the petition to be counted.

      I have talked to the council and they say they will only accept the signatures from Luton but we know we have many more than the 500 we require for the council to take it to committee to make a decision.

      Thank you to everyone who has signed, we needed you all.

      Victor

    3. The Deadline!

      The Deadline for delivering the Petition to Hazel Simmons is the 15th of July but we will continue to find signatures right up until that day. So far the paper Petition has exceeded the 700 mark and the online is at 92, so keep signing and I think we will surpass the 1000 mark by Friday.

      What will be exceptional is the newspaper report by Carl Mungazi of 'Luton on Sunday'. The photos will be taken tomorrow (11th July) at 3pm if anyone wants to turn up to get in the picture. At the Purley Centre Library of course!

    4. PETITION UPDATE - WHO IS SIGNING?

      THE PETITION IS GETTING TO PROPER NUMBERS NOW AS THE CREW GATHER HUNDREDS OF SIGNATURES EVERYDAY FROM PEOPLE FROM AS FAR AWAY AS NEW YORK AND JAMAICA AND FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE. IT SEEMS THIS IDEA HAS THE COMMUNITY SPARKED OFF AND MAY INSPIRE A NATION!

      SOME PERTINENT SIGNERS:
      * KELVIN HOPKINS MP
      * DELANEY BROWN SENIOR - GRANDFATHER, DELANEY BROWN JR
      * JULIE McGUIRE - MOTHER OF JORDAN McGUIRE
      * POLICE SUPERINTENDENT DAVID BOYLE
      * PASTOR LLOYD DENNY - CHAIRMAN, 'LUTON IN HARMONY'
      * THE RESIDENTS OF MARSH FARM AND SURROUNDING AREAS
      * THE SHOP OWNERS AND BUSINESSES OF MARSH FARM
      * THE COMMUNITY LEADERS OF LUTON
      * THE YOUTH OF MARSH FARM AND SURROUNDING AREAS

    5. Opticians surprise me!

      Just talked to someone that works with the Opticians in the basment level of the Library in the Purley Centre and they said, they've been trying to move out for ages! Seems like the council may be trying to slow their movements so a certain group don't get to use the space, which will show developers that there's nothing happening in this ghetto, so lets knock it down and redevelop. I don't even want to stop that, I WANT THAT! It even says on the petition, "..to use in the time being.." What is going on here then?

    7. Great Day at the Peace Rally, 22.06.13

      It was a bit better than the last one as there were more dignitaries from the council, the Police were there and I did a another speech (You knew I would) . This time it was in front of Kelvin Hopkins MP, the Superintendent of Police and many clerical heads of different churches. I told them about the council not using the empty buildings in Luton to let the voluntary groups have a space to work from and also got everyone to sign the petition. Awesome!

    8. The Purley Centre is essentially going to be 'Mothballed' for destruction

      The huge plans to renovate the whole of the Purley Centre which will mean destruction of all buildings attached and covering Thrales Close, etc, will not happen for years, in that time the Library will remain unused. This is the Luton Borough Council's Plan...until they can afford it! Meanwhile the kids development suffers and so therefore the community of Marsh Farm will inevitably suffer. Cause and Effect people.

      There is so much crime in this area, this is usually because of youths having nothing to do. Please don't say it is about money because this project with a little funding could save this area and its young people

      because i used to be one of the CDMA students a few months back and i know first hand the difference it makes and the impact it has on the people who attend the classes but also the impact it has on the local community and to be honest we need more done for the community such as this
