Mikayla Hull, a young Grand Rapids woman alleged to have stolen a purse, was apprehended and held by 3 men during a "citizens' arrest."  During the arrest her arms and legs were held on the ground while a 250 lb. man (Jonathan Damon) sat on her chest. After pleading with him to let her up, she attempted to free herself and was punched in the face three times by Mr. Damon before one of the other men stopped him (on video).

We believe that this sets a dangerous precedent, as it regards "citizens' arrests" and especially women's rights, in cases where men may attempt to arrest and detain women.  This case should be carefully investigated and Mr. Damon should be prosecuted for his abuse of this young lady.

To:
William A. Forsyth, Kent County Prosecutor
Elias Lumpkin, Third Ward Commissioner
We respectfully request that you look carefully into the case of Ms. Mikayla Hull's "citizens' arrest" and bring charges against Mr. Jonathan Damon for his use of excessive force in apprehending her.

Miscreants like this little dirt bag "Ms." Hull should be allowed to run around and over the law abiding citizens.

The use of this Excessive Force is outrageous. Seriously He didn't have to hold her down like that and punch her in the face about 3 Times.

First and foremost, Mr. Damon did not have to go to the extent that he did. Ms Hull was clearly cooperating and even suggested for an alternate form of detainment. Mr Damon was so obviously fascinated with this show of power, that he left behind all reason and just went overboard. True enough, she did bite him, but because he wouldn't get his self proclaimed 250lb a** off of her! I believe that this situation was just a good excuse for him to have the chance to punch a n*@@#* and get away with it! He needs to be in jail too..this is a blatant show of a hate crime! But our justice system seems to think its ok. Why? Because she committed a crime first? What the ? Okay so we livin like that now? So the next time it'll be..."oh she was biting me and I felt threatened so I shot her"? Lord have mercy is all I can say...if this is what the world is reverting back to!
