Justice for Margaret Thomas

    1. Anthony Thomas
    2. Petition by

      Anthony Thomas

      Dallas, TX

This movement has been inspired by Dallas businessman Anthony Thomas, who on Feb. 11, 2011, witnessed his mother, Margaret Thomas, die needlessly in the emergency room of a local hospital due to accused negligence by hospital staff members in care of Ms. Thomas, as confirmed by an investigation by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Mr. Thomas is calling for policy and legislative changes that would put more accountability on medical practitioners and prevent any other patient to die without dignity the way Margaret Thomas did.

To:
The Texas Medical Community
I believe that there needs to be an effort to eliminate medical negligence at the hands of emergency room doctors and nurses. This is a problem that exists on the national scale and needs to be addressed.

I, along with Anthony Thomas, am calling for policy and legislative changes that will help eliminate negligence in hospital emergency rooms and for during medical procedures.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

Everyone who joins the medical profession should be held to a higher standord of accountability. People are literally trusting those people with life, mental and emotional issues. If they aren't accountable, then who is?

I miss my mom daily, My brother experienced my mom suffer in the hands of negligent Nurse and other ER workers on, 02/11/2011. I pray for my brother daily for God to give him the will power to continue the movement regarding the hospital's accountability in the emergency rooms in Texas and around the country. People deserve a right to live and the best of medical care, The hospital took that away from our Mother and the hurt they cause will be hard to heal if at all.

I don't think a limit should be placed on life, life is precious and priceless and everyone that has signed the Hippocratic oath and any other oath of responsibility should be held accountable and no limit should be placed on their not being accountable.
