There needs to be justice for Antonio "Anthony" Lacertosa. He was taken from us too quickly. Those responsible walk freely, and need to be held accountable for their actions. This was not self-defense!
In the early hours of March 17th 2012 after celebrating at their engagement party, Antonio "Anthony" Lacertosa and his fiance Bridgette Schneider accompanied by some of their closest friends and family headed to Espana restaurant in Annadale town on Staten Island to continue celebrating the special event and future of the couple. Unfortunately what was supposed to be a beautiful night turned tragic fast. While some members of the party were standing in front of the restaurant they were approached by the disgruntled manager and his shady associate / friend who had just arrived. An argument that led to a physical altercation took place, all of which was started and provoked by the manger brandishing a loaded gun on the crowd. The crowd proceeded to fight for their lives. Inside the restaurant not one person had any idea as to what was taking place out front until someone told Anthony his brother was involved in a fight outside. Anthony rushed outside to see what was happening and make sure his family and friends were ok. As he entered the area the managers friend came outside from the back of the kitchen and stabbed Anthony with a large kitchen knife killing him. The murderer was arrested. The case was rushed by the Staten island DA and never went to trial resulting in the murderer getting off on all charges. The friend and owner of Espana opened the restaurant for business the same day as if nothing had happened, not giving a second thought to the life that had been taken at his establishment due to his poor choice in his employees.
The friends and family of Anthony Lacertosa have created a Facebook page entitled: "Ban Espana Restaurant From Staying Open," to help us seek Justice for Anthony:
