A person reviewed my book on Amazon. In the first sentence of the review they state, "I have not read this book ..." Then they give it a rating of only three stars, which LOWERED my overall rating. Many people marked this review as abusive and unhelpful, but Amazon did not remove it.
I wrote to Amazon (Kindle Direct Publishing) and asked them why they had not removed this review. I got back an answer saying, "I've read the review ... but the review doesn't violate our posted guidelines, so I'm unable to remove it. We try to encourage our customers ... to air their honest thoughts on items they have received."
WHAT?! The person said he had not READ IT! In fact, he also states that the book is on his WISH list showing he had not RECEIVED IT either! I'm GLAD he wants to read the book, but how can he rate the book NOW??!! It's called a book CUSTOMER REVIEW, not a CUSTOMER PREVIEW!
I put a lot of work into this book, which is concerned with the ancient origins of mythology and religion. It is the result of a lifetime of research and study. It may be the most important thing I have done in my life. It may be the only thing I am remembered for. So I am proud of the book and it hurts to have someone NOT read it and then rate it. PLEASE TELL AMAZON TO REMOVE THIS BOOK REVIEW!
