Since Mamata Banerjee came to power, countless women have been raped and molested in Kolkata. It started off with the Park Street rape case, where she failed as a CM to bring speedy justice. Since then, every other day, the front page carries the story of an unfortunate women who has become the victim of dirty, insatiable power politics. Most of these rapists have political connections and are riding high on their misconception that they will get away. We want Mamata Banerjee to step it up and provide quick and harshest punishment (Life imprisonment or Death) to culprits and strip their political connections of their post and power.
This will set a unprecedented example that she as a women CM will not let hulligans run the state and malign the dignity of women with the backing of some of her and other party leaders.
Mamata has been an example of what a women can achieve if determined. She has reached a place from where she can change the face of Kolkata, and West Bengal' party politics. But if she chooses to ignore, Kolkata will fast beat Delhi to become the most unsafe metro in India.
As a women, I can't let that happen.
As citizens of civilized nation, no one can let it happen.
