The Irish government is currently leading a consultation of a proposed bill to criminalise sex workers’ clients. However, no current sex worker has been allowed to participate in the hearings.
We oppose this exclusion and the silencing of sex workers’ voice.
Sex workers better know what is good for them and clients’ criminalisation has never been one of their demands.
Sex workers want labour and human rights, not being “saved” against their will.

To:
Alan Shatter, Irish Justice Minister
Stop the censorship of sex workers! Stop their clients' criminalisation!

Sincerely,
[Your name]

From a purely civil rights perspective, If an adult man or woman chooses of their own free will, to sell their sexual services to another adult, then in my opinion that is their entitlement and the state has no right to pursue legal action against either party involved in that arrangement. It simply makes no sense whatsoever that something that is free to give away should be illegal if sold.

Minister Shatter and David Staton are part of a party that claimed to only legislate on reason and evidence, but the hearings have done all in their power to avoid a balanced debate and scientific enquiry.
