The camps at the Iowa 4-H Center are vital to a camper's development. Here, campers build a sense of independence and adventure, whilst building one-on-one relationships with staff members, as well as strong and lasting friendships with fellow campers. Camp provides a safe environment for Iowa's youth to immerse themselves into nature and encourages them to lead a healthy lifestyle enjoying the outdoors. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach made this decision without warning and without discussion. We are asking for reconsideration of this decision and to continue summer 2013 as it had already been planned. The Iowa 4-H Center has 60 years of tradition going, and we'd simply like to continue on.
