Wrestling is one of, if not the oldest sport known to man. It was one of the founding sports in the Olympic Games. Statistically, there must certainly be another sport that is currently being played at the Olympics that could be dropped based on participation numbers. In the United States alone, wrestling is a growing sport. Once wrestlers leave college there are very few avenues for the athletes to compete, and this simply takes one of those few options away. It is an insult to the Olympic heritage to remove wrestling as a sport in the Summer Olympic Games.
