This is in remembrance of two amazing young men who were tragically killed in an auto accident on 2/9/13.

The memorial not only gives their family, friends and members of the community a sense of comfort, but the memorial also serves as a reminder to all who pass the importance of safety.

Memorials tell the story of lives taken too soon – they have become personal statements bearing witness to a life lost and they act as a memento to others both to offer a moment of quiet reflection on the significance of the fragility of a persons life, and as a heeded warning of dangers we have become too complacent in noticing.

To:
City of Richmond 1st District City Councilman Jon Baliles, Councilman First district City of Richmond
Please approve a "Drive Safely" memorial road sign at the accident site of 5105 W Cary St Rd and Ampthill Rd in memory and honor of Joel Forshaw and Nathaniel Daigle.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

One or two people should not control hundreds. Without a GOOD reason this should be pushed to the top priority. If it saves one life it is worth it.

We have a sign for our son. It is a comfort to us to know that others see this sign and slow down and be careful on the road.

I graduated high school with these young men, and what happened to them is tragic. I think their families have every right to put up a memorial in their honor, especially if it's reminding others to drive safely.
