Would you like to see mountain bike/multi-use trails at Eagle Creek Park on the west side of Indianapolis?

These natural surface, "shared-use" trails are enjoyed by mountain bikers, hikers, trail runners, dog walkers, birders, mushroom hunters and more.  Multi-use trails are valuable amenities that would be utilized for generations.  They make people healthier, and they make for more appealing, livable communities.  Multi-use trails at Eagle Creek Park would be a wonderful legacy!

Please sign this petition and show your support for mountain bike/multi-use trails at Eagle Creek Park.

It's time to show what we are capable of doing, and to show our support for the park. On THIS COMING SATURDAY (April 20 - Earth Day) there is a public work day on the west side of Eagle Creek in and around the area where multi-use trails are being proposed.

We need to see a very large turnout by mountain bikers and supporters of a multi-use, sustainable trail system at Eagle Creek. We need to prove and show that we are a powerful source of volunteers and labor. Please bring your best smile, attitude and work ethic. Meet and talk to other folks. Please be as self-sufficient as possible. Dress appropriately for hard work in the woods (pants and gloves), and bring your own water and food.

It would make a very strong statement to our opposition if our supporters were the largest contingent in attendance. It's time to step away from behind our keyboards and show what we can bring to the table!

Less than 12 hours after this petition has been posted and already more than 100 people have signed! Please continue to share the link with friends and show your support for mountain bike trails at Eagle Creek Park on the west side of Indianapolis.

As you encourage folks to sign, please also remind them to attend the public meeting on Wednesday, June 6 at the Pike Performing Art Center. Sign-in and seating begin at 5:30 p.m. Meeting begins at 6 p.m. Attending the meeting is far more impactful than just signing the petition.

This is also a great opportunity to show your support for the Hoosier Mountain Bike Association (hmba.org) and all they have done for outdoor recreation in Indiana, including building the best shared-use trails in the Midwest! We know that lives are busy, but if you love mountain biking and want to see more trails in the Indianapolis metro area, then this is the time to step up and say so. Anyone can be an advocate!

We look forward to seeing you there!

I grew up on the west side, going to Eagle Creek Park often, and having just recently started mountain biking, would LOVE to be able to here at on of my favorite parks. The land seems perfectly fit and I truly can't believe that this has not been embraced.

Multi-use trails are a natural asset to any community. Eagle Creek could easily increase their revenue by incorporating a small 3-4 mi. multi-use loop trail into their existing trail infrastructure within the park's limits.

I use and support the park in multiple ways (park pass, dock rental, shelter rentals, etc) and believe my family misses out on a great opportunity to trail ride together in a park we really enjoy!

Eagle Creek Park is an amazing resource to Indianapolis residents, and mountain biking infrastructure would make it all the more valuable.
