Host a party to put an end to puppy mills

Every week that goes by, there is more and more attention to the cruelty of puppy mills. Enforcement raids have taken place at puppy mills from North Carolina to Oregon. More than 30 states are considering legislation to crack down on puppy mill abuses. Consumers are holding demonstrations around the country and filed a class action lawsuit this week against one of the largest sellers of unhealthy puppies.

Will you help add your community to the nationwide push to improve the lives of dogs by hosting a party to end puppy mills on Sunday, April 19?

We're thrilled to tell you that we will be joined by three very special guests for this pivotal event in the fight to end puppy mill abuse: economist, author, actor, and more Ben Stein, and two of the leading advocates in Congress for ending puppy mills -- Congressmen Sam Farr (D-Calif.) and Jim Gerlach (R-Pa.). They will be joining HSLF President Mike Markarian on the nationwide Party Animals conference call to talk about what we all can do to put an end to the cruel puppy mill industry.

Who wants to do their part to help puppies abused by this cruel industry by hosting a "Put an End to Puppy Mills" Party Animals event on Sunday, April 19? Anyone? Anyone?

Puppy mills are breeding facilities that mass-produce puppies for sale in pet stores, over the Internet, and directly to the public. Dogs are stacked in filthy wire cages, often with no veterinary care or human interaction, and they are treated not like pets but like a cash crop. Mother dogs are constantly bred and kept in continuous confinement. They are destroyed or discarded when they can no longer churn out puppies.

By hosting a Put an End to Puppy Mills party on April 19, you can invite your friends, neighbors and co-workers to a party with a purpose: helping HSLF end this cruel and inhumane treatment of man's best friend.

Party Animals is a fun and unique way to support the Humane Society Legislative Fund. The HSLF works at the state and federal level on animal protection legislation and also works to support humane candidates for office.
