Tell your Senators to pass the Senate budget resolution without weakening amendments.

Last week, efforts to pass a progressive budget cleared a major hurdle - passing favorably out of the House and Senate Budget Committees. Now, budget resolutions are being considered by the full House and Senate.

Unfortunately, we understand some Senators are planning to introduce harmful amendments that would weaken efforts to fund investments critical to women and families, while expanding tax cuts for the wealthy few.

Please speak up! Urge your Senators today to PASS the Senate budget resolution without any weakening amendments.

The Senate budget resolution, like the budget outlined by President Obama, invests in quality, affordable health care for all, creates a clean energy environment, and improves college affordability. And it does so in a fair and responsible way: by cutting corporate subsidies, closing corporate tax loopholes, and beginning to make the very wealthy pay their fair share of taxes.

In the past eight years, we have opposed budgets that have favored special interests and the wealthy at the expense of the most vulnerable. Finally, we have a budget that moves us in a new direction - a budget that provides support for families and communities in these tough times and addresses long-term challenges in a fair and responsible way.

This week your Senators will be voting on the budget resolution and numerous proposed amendments. Tell them to move us in a new direction by putting the needs of women and their families first. Urge your Senators to pass the budget resolution without any weakening amendments.
