As people affected by diabetes, we are frustrated by the lack of choices of available CGM technology on the Canadian market. As you may already know, CGM greatly reduces HbA1c levels and ultimately reduces morbidity and mortality rates, saving health care dollars. Currently only one CGM sensor is approved in Canada by Medtronic, compatible only with Medtronic products. This creates a barrier for those of us who do not use Medtronic products. We want to be able to choose a product that fits our diverse lifestyles, because no two diabetics are the same. We demand more variety in the CGM market.
