Resource Development Specialists and Case Workers in NJ have let us know that teens are often overlooked. As a result, we are launching item drives complete with Item List & Planning Guide for interested groups and individuals in an attempt to collect Gently Used & New MP3 Players and Gift Cards for teens throughout New Jersey. Just download the item list and planning guide and then you are ready to begin collecting. Items can be dropped off on a prescheduled Saturday (if participating with Disney) or arranged anytime by calling Michele Rodriguez at 732-722-7240 or contact via email at mrodriguez@blossominternational.org

In order to qualify for the free Disney day, individuals must sign up to participate in the drive via the Disney website. Even if you don't intend on going to Disney, you can further help kids by donating your ticket directly to the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida or two other charities that serve children. Imagine giving a teen the joy of music while also gifting a day of magic to a disadvantaged child! Visit the below link and search with the 07719 zip code to find Blossom's Item Drive and sign up: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disn...

FACTS ABOUT TEENS IN FOSTER CARE
The average age of a child entering the foster care system is 8*

Almost half (49%) of all children in foster care were age 11 and older**

More than 25,000 youth “aged out” of foster care in 2006 — turned out from the system not because they were reunited with their families or adopted, but simply because they turned 18**

By donating mp3 players you bring the joy of music to a teen in foster care

By providing gift cards you are giving a teen the chance to consider their own needs and wants and take action on them

Most importantly, by participating you are providing hope to a teen in New Jersey
