As a lifelong citizen/voter in the great state of New Jersey, I implore you to sign this petition asking our Governor to please reconsider his stance on marriage equality and to rescind his veto of the law passed by the legislature.. By signing this, you tell Gov.Christie that LGBT members of our community should not have to wait for a vote to end their treatment as second class citizens. We ask Governor Christie to think about the people of the state he is governing now, and not consider his future political ambitions. We the people, have spoken through our elected officals and demand marriage equality for ALL citizens of New Jersey!!!

Its too bad you had to take this road. I was actually considering supporting you in 2016 should you run, however that is now and forever off the table w/ this move. Grave abuse of personal and political power. Shameful.

My BRILLIANT son is gay and will leave the state of NJ in order to have equal rights. Why lose NJ's best and brightest? Imagine if FAT people couldn't get married ...

Less than two months later, after a year-long struggle with cancer, my partner Carol passed into eternity. We were together for 10 years. We raised children, volunteered in the community and we voted. As homeowners and workers we paid thousands of dollars in state and federal taxes. The public servants who were duly elected to represent ALL the people of New Jersey failed us. Our choice to legally marry as a couple living here in our home state was denied to us . . . forever. The denial of what millions of couples now take for granted added to my sense of loss in a profound way.
