Stop animal cruelty towards dogs in Bali

    1. Petition by

      Nathan Cayot

      Denpasar, ID

I have lived in Bali my whole life. I am a 16 years old boy who is very passionate about animals. People in Bali are very friendly, they are very generous and open to each other. Everyone would just hangout infront of their house and chat. In Bali, there are so many wild dogs walking around the housing communities looking for food in the bins, the streets, etc... These dogs aren’t always treated right, most people wouldn’t really pay any attention but some of them hit them or throw rocks at them when they get next to their house. I just want people to be more humane towards these dogs. By signing this petition, you will send a message to the governer general of Bali, Mangku Pastika about enforcing new laws about animal cruelty in Bali, especially towards dogs.

To:
Governer General of Bali, Mangku Pastika
Please enforce a law against animal cruelty in Bali, especially towards the dogs.
I am tired of seeing people hurting the dogs on the streets for no apparent reason. If a law was to be enforced for this, Bali will be more peaceful and the island will be filled with more love.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

As a Balinese I have no idea why some people threat animal esp dog so bad, since we know that dog is human best friend. Please stop any kind of abuse and cruelty to animal or dog. I support BAWA for their hard work in Bali .

As a foreign tourist with a love of animals, it ruined my trip to see two dogs either tied together (or worse) being hit by stones and beaten. I will not return to Bali, and I will not recommend people to visit elsewhere unless I hear of change. It's too bad, because Bali is quite nice otherwise.

I am currently in Bali for the first time for 8 days on holiday. Bali is amazing- love the place and the people but would seriously consider not returning because of the cruelty towards the dogs. I am a dog lover and it upsets me immensely to continually see dogs that are underfed, ridden with diseases, limping, kicked when they walk by and generally treated horribly, EVERYWHERE you go. My own dog is a kelpie x and looks much like a lot of the dogs on the island. These are smart, loving and loyal animals who deserve to treated with respect at the very least.
