Georgia General Assembly: Privatize the state road system

    1. john Golden

      Dacula, GA

A nationalized road system paid for by taxes instead of being privatized based on usage promotes overusage, causes congestion and car accident and increases carbon emissions and amount of time spent on roads. A privatized system paid for based on usage would decrease usage and fix the tragedy of commons suffered by the present road system.

Every year, thousands of people die on "public" roads. Yet, having only one entity charged with management of the roads - government - there is a total lack of innovation. This entity is never fired, nor held accountable in any way. In fact, it pays itself continuous raises - from our believed to be endless coffers. It's time to put market forces and competition to work for us. In addition to finding new ways to make our roads safer, this will also put an end to the massive sector inflation we've seen, and make cost overruns actually have consequences.

Here is to you kid! Hope you win. The road system is left up to the government. and they are doing a crappy job. Then they want you to pay to use the crappy roads. The GA peach pass is crap causing more and more slow traffic
