ONE MILLION MOMS
One Million Moms - a conservative driven anti-gay group - is at it again demanding that pro-equality images be removed from commercial advertizing. This time their target is GAP which is currently featuring a gay couple on a billboard in Los Angeles, California, in its 'be bright be one' campaign. One Million Moms has in recent times be targeting (unsuccessfully) JC Penny demanding it remove lesbian couples from its advertizing. The couple featured in the GAP campaign is Rory O'Malley (broadway star in "Book of Mormon") and his boyfriend Gerold Schroeder.
From the One Million Moms website:
“GAP needs to seriously consider how their immoral advertising affect the youth of our nation. Christians should urge for the the removal of GAP's offensive billboard in Los Angeles and any other city where it is located. GAP will also need to cancel any plans to use the 'Be One' ad campaign elsewhere including store-front posters, its website and in print magazine ads.”
Tell GAP to keep this pro-equality billboard on display and to not cave to any anti-gay pressure from One Million Moms! We thank GAP for representing diversity in its advertizing images and we support for their continued use of such images.
