My mom was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 2011 after 13 years in remission from her original diagnosis. She has now been on 4 different chemotherapy treatments since the recurrence was diagnosed and my mom, just like thousands of other Stage IV Breast Cancer patients need more treatment options to keep the cancer from spreading elsewhere.
We are running out of treatment options and this drug gives us hope that my mom will have more time with my 4 1/2 year old son and my 5 year old niece.
I held my mom's hand through the night talking to her about all the wonderful things we did. The trips that we went on. The musicals and concerts we saw. I talked about how her strength and courage have made me into the woman I am today. I told her that I was going to be ok and even though I would miss her I wanted her to be at peace. Around 7 a.m. I told her I was going to shut my eyes a bit. When I woke up, she had stopped breathing. She passed sometime between 7 and 8 a.m. I know she knew that it was ok to go and that she didn't need to fight anymore. I told her that she was there when I came into this world and I would be there when she left. I will miss you mom more than I can possibly imagine. I promise to keep your memory alive every day.
Please continue to sign and share this petition so that others that are battling this disease have more treatment options and to keep my mom's memory alive.
