Victory

From Maria Young: Our voices were heard!! It was a real long night, but so worth it. We claim VICTORY in this long battle and I want to thank all of you for getting the word out. Our collective voices were heard and our Song Dog lives to sing another day. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support. Our Education + Awareness = Coexistence campaign is on it's way!!

Trapping is indiscriminate; non-target animals can be caught in baited snares. Killing coyotes has proven ineffective, as populations quickly rebound with greater pup survival. We the undersigned residents of Huntington Beach support an anti-feeding ordinance and oppose killing coyotes. Coexistence, Education and Awareness is the answer!!

To:
Devin Dwyer, Mayor Pro Tem
Please support an anti-feeding ordinance and oppose killing coyotes.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

H.B. councilman wants coyotes trapped, killed

While coyotes have been a concern for Huntington Beach residents for years, sightings and pet deaths have increased, prompting city officials to consider a plan to trap and kill the animals. City Councilman Devin Dwyer will look for council support Monday to hire a licensed trapper.

Just because we can do this-kill animals- -does not make it right. They were here first and we have invaded their living spaces. Leave them alone and or move to where there are no other animals if you are that afraid of them. We need to learn to coexist not eliminate!

People are the problem. Don't leave food out. Cats should be kept inside, I have a horrible overpopulation of cats in my neighborhood which leads to a feces issue in people's yards. Worse than dogs.

We have nature preserves for a reason. Killing animals just because these animals are inconvenient to those who choose to live near such areas is wrong. It completely goes against what those ares are designated for.

It's a shame to kill wildlife for existing. There are other ways to handle this situation besides killing.

Killing and death is never an answer to any problem. Awareness is the only resolution. Ignorance breeds hatred. Animals deserve respect and have rights too. They aren't destroying and over populating the planet. We are!!!! They aren't causing global warming. We are!!!
