Dept. Of Homeland Security: Don't deport Jose Antonio Vargas, but create a legal path for him

Jose Antonio Vargas was sent to the United States from the Philippines as a 12-year-old child. As a 16-year old, when trying to apply for a driver's license, he found out that he did not have the proper documentation to legally be here.

That did not stop him from becoming a well known journalist and even win a Pulitzer prize.

Last year he decided to 'come out' and tell his life story in a New York Times Magazine article. He has since worked tirelessly on creating a dialogue and educating people on the reality and the need for immigration reform. A few months ago he saw his campaigning for the DREAM Act succeed, when the Obama administration decided to halt deportation of young undocumented immigrants, that were eligible for the DREAM Act.

Unfortunately, on Sept. 5th, he was arrested for a driving infraction in Minnesota, which may end up result in his deportation.

Please sign this petition to show that you are supporting Jose Antonio Vargas' and all that he has accomplished. He is an asset to this country and we can't afford to lose people like him.

He is a remarkable journalist who helps spread the message about undocumented immigrant issues. Please let him stay in the US!
