Our school is amazing. It is a vibrant community hub for our rural village and communities in Lunenburg county. It is also a growing school (up 25% since 2006). We have developed a cost-effective and well-supported proposal for our school board to select rather than close our school and bus our kids away. Our option is most cost-effective, best for students and best for families and others in our area.

Closure would forever change our community, and not for the better. Rural sustainability is at stake when schools are threatened. Join us to show you love Petite Riviere, its vibrant surrounding communities, and its heart and soul, Petite Riviere Elementary School.

Hi all, if you reside in the area and can attend:
The Board is hosting a Hearing on Thurs Feb 21 at 630. Come early for sweets and warm drinks provided by the Home & School Assoc. You dont have to speak to show support, and you dont have to arrive early or stay late. In fact just coming, for any time at all is helpful...

If you cant attend, please consider writing a letter to the School Board. It can be by email, and Petite Review should be in the Subject. Address it to She is expecting letters of support.

Consider sharing your support for our Community School...
+ Indicate how academic achievement is supported at PRES
+ Tell them how much the community benefits from having a school here
+ Share what you or we would lose if it were shuttered
+ Let them know you are willing to work with the Board to explore and develop the Community School approach (common elsewhere)

      Thanks for signing on!

This school is our community. I love this community. Without the school our community would suffer. No one deserves to suffer..especially the children that go to Petite Rivere Elementary.

It is common sense. Small school communities in nice areas moving in a hopeful and positive direction are a rare blessing in the educational system. God Bless and keep those beautiful schools for children to learn in the most optimal setting.
