Congress Members Nationwide: Extend emergency unemployment benefits

Despite unemployment rates decreasing slowly, far too many of us are still having extreme difficulty locating employment. At age 61, never having been terminated in my life and competing for same type of employment as my unemployed 37 year old daughter in my area, no suitable jobs are available. Many of us have family or friends who will be left out in the cold with zero funds IF we don't speak out to have these benefits extended as they were previously for the 99ers! Please contact your state/federal officials ASAP so this can be addressed long before cut off on 12/28/13!

I am 37 years old, born and raised in the South Bronx , NY. I have always worked and never asked for a helping hand, I became recently unemployed due to company cuts. I also recently was in a vehicular accident which makes looking for employment even harder. I have never been terminated from employment, have always paid my taxes, I am not asking for a hand out, just a little help till I get back on my feet!

At age 58, I'm going to be forced to apply for welfare for the first time in my life. This emergency money is being used to supplement me working part-time until I can secure something better. Cut the overseas giveaways and take care of our citizens who are actively working and still can't make ends meet due to the underemployment in this country!
