Animal cruelty is becoming a BIG problem in Del Rio Texas. This needs to change. A dog was attacked by a pitbull and animal control hosed him off and left him in a cage to die, denying a local rescue organization (who were willing to provide vet care) access to the dog, the dog recieved no vet care from animal control. After some publicity the dog was released to the rescue 8 hours after animal control had recieved him. A huge attempt was made to save him but the 8 hours of neglect had taken its toll and the dog lost his fight for life. We need to make sure this does not happen again.

To:
CITY OF DEL RIO
Make animal cruelty a felony and change the way animals are treated in the Del Rio animal control facility.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

Because I love animals, especially pets, we domesticated them, so now it is our responsibility to take care of them.

Because I love animals, and this could have been avoided at no cost to the animal control. Who could be so cruel?

This is just plain heart less. We wouldn't do this to a human who is more capable. But animals, they need us to take care of them even more. The city needs to change their policies.

Every animal deserves a second chance. No animal should be treated horribly.
