      Australia

This is important. David Warren created the most important invention for aviation safety. He was never credited enough for his invention and most Australians don't know who he is.

Let us change that. It is a common tradition worldwide to name an airport after a local hero and David Warren is one of the great Australian Heroes! I think the upcoming Airport in Canberra should be named after David Warren. Comment with your support.

    1. When will they listen to Captain De Crespigny’s warning?

“They are going to have to rethink the logic
of how they keep the flight recorder going.”

Captain De Crespigny’s prophetic warning 2 years before MH 370.
(See 5:02 in my YouTube video)

I interviewed Australia’s most famous pilot, Captain Richard De Crespigny 2 years ago in 2012. In that youtube interview he said that the Black Box needed rethinking. He discovered this when his QF32 incident was investigated and he realised that there was a flaw in the design of the Black Box. Since the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) his Airbus A380 had the standard 2 hour loop, the important part of the conversations were lost. They discovered it had been overwriting itself while the engine was running for another 3 hours on the runway.

    2. It's Official! The David Warren Building Opens

I had some good news I wanted to share with all of you. As you know 2 years ago, during Year 5 I choose David Warren as my school project. I started a petition to rename the Canberra Airport to the David Warren Airport.

I have so far received 3,900 votes on my petition and yesterday I went to Canberra and attended the ceremony where the Canberra Airport renamed a building to now be called the “David Warren Building”.

I still have a way to go until I achieve the renaming of an Australian airport and am still collecting signatures on my petition.

I have a video and pictures at http://www.evecogan.com/blog/2014/03/25/david-warren-building-opens/

(Sorry about the thumb in the video. That is my dad and his wonderful camera work!)

It's Official! The David Warren Building Opens

Today on a beautiful day in Canberra, Tuesday the 25th March, 2014, Dr David Warren was recognised by the Canberra Airport! It was so fulfilling seeing the first recognition of David Warren in our nations capital, Canberra. Thank you Stephen Bryon for taking this step and I liked your speech today.

It is time for Australia to give more recognition to its great inventors rather than sportsmen and reality "stars".

David was a great man and it would be fitting particularly as his invention is so important given current avialtion events and he's never really been given the recognition he deserves

David Warren needs to be acknowledged for his determination and creativity. I am an Australian and I had never known about David Warren until now - his history as the inventor of the Aviation Flight Recorder (Black Box) should be included in our education as children. Naming an Airport after David Warren should have happened while he was living and I feel very sad that this did not happen.

Because one of the most important inventions for aviation safety was. Invented by this man and he should be remembered for it.
