Teachers work far longer than the hours they spend with our children. They spend at least two to three hours every day at home or at school correcting papers, planning lessons and all the other things that go into teaching our children. Now the Boston Public Schools and the Administration want teachers to work an extra half hour everyday...FOR FREE!

Boston Public School Administrators are paid overtime that is retirement worthy. The teachers, who are in direct service to Boston's children, should also be paid for their time too!

I am signing because I received an outstanding education from the Boston Public Schools from pre-K through grade 12. I think teachers should be treated with the utmost respect. They don't receive it from most parents or from some of their students. Now they can't even be compensated fairly for the time that they work. I hope you will address this position and give teachers the financial compensation they deserve.

The majority of teachers already volunteer extra time before and after school to service their students better. Now to try to make it manditory without any extra pay is a ridiculous request. BPS should have been paying them for this all along.

Teachers already work long and hard beyond the regular school day, including weekends, and are underpaid and unappreciated. If they are being mandated to work longer hours in school, they should absolutely get paid for it, just as in other professions. Don't take advantage of their dedication!
