Allow bicycles on BART trains at all times

    1. Petition by

      Jody Brooks

      Oakland, CA

This will allow many who live or work far from BART to commute without a car. This, in turn, reduces traffic congestion.

Bike share, bike rental, and bus services are all very limited or unavailable at BART stations. Allowing bikes on BART at all times, enables riders to cover distances they cannot reasonably walk during their commute.

I almost never take BART when I don't plan on riding my bike the rest of the way. I think ridership would go up if you encouraged biking on bart instead of discouraging it.

Why wouldn't it be? Because I hate being treated like a kindergartner when I am a gown-up? The question is why wouldn't BART allow bikes on board; it's so benighted. I can't even believe it's legal. At the very least, it's imbecilic. They need to allow bikes AND run the trains all night. Then we would be able to hold our heads up a little higher here in the "enlightened" Bay Area.

I commute everyday on my bike. It sucks to get to Bart at 9 and not be able to bring my bike on.
